Musk melon (Kharbooja) is one of the most popular juicy & healthy summer fruits in India. There are only a few people who will say that they do not like muskmelon (Kharbooja in English). I definitely do not belong to that category. This wonderful juicy summer fruit is very popular in Kolkata too. During this summer season, you can have this fruit at any local fresh fruit shop. Most people prefer to have this as like any other fruits. I mean they like to have this muskmelon directly without any further preparation except peeling. But you can make delicious musk melon smoothie with that fruit if it is perfectly ripe and fresh one.
You may find musk melon (kharbooja in English) in different shapes like round shaped or egg-shaped. I have used this egg-shaped musk melon fruit to make this awesome smoothie.
I have tried thicker smoothie as well as this one which is not thick but not so thin too. Here I have used half of a medium sized musk melon to make 3 glasses of healthy & delicious smoothie. Unlike any other fruit-based smoothie, it is not normally available at any juice & shake shops. So you have to prepare this at home if you really want to try this.
Though you can add sugar according to your taste to make this sweeter but nowadays I hate sugar, I mean 🙂 I started avoiding sugar as much as possible (Not actually, still trying 🙂 ). Here honey is added in very small quantity but in case you want to sacrifice taste over health then you can avoid it because if you use perfectly ripe musk melon then your smoothie will be no longer be that much sour in taste.
Musk melon smoothie recipe
- ½ of one small muskmelon (kharbooja)
- 3 tsp honey
- ½ cup curd (yogurt)
- ½ cup fresh cream
- 1.5 cups full cream milk
- 12-15 pieces cashew nuts
- 1 tsp vanilla essence, optional
- 1 tsp lime juice, optional
- Take everything (except full cream milk) in a blender and blend to make the smooth puree
- Now add milk to that puree and again blend to make perfect muskmelon smoothie
- Then add crushed ice in glasses and pour musk melon smoothie and then serve
