We all love greenery. Most people feel calm & happy in a place where plants are more than concrete-building. But did you ever try green juice drink? It helped me to feel refreshed & energetic too. All easy to available leaves, vegetables are used to make this healthy drink.
Gotu kola ia a very common plant in West Bengal. Here it is known as thankuni pata but its scientific name it Centella Asiatica. In some south eastern Asian countries, it is known as bai bua bok. It is very easily available plant in Bengal. This plant only need enough water in soil. That is why in our place, it grows from here & there during rainy days. So I never thought it is so popular plant in various other countries.
Many people also eat raw gotu kola leaves in the morning as traditionally it is said that it has a lot of health benefits. But most people use it to make ‘shukto – a traditional Bengali dish’ or its juice. I too love its juice, so often use it to make some drinks. Here it is used along with cucumber, mint leaves & lemon juice. Personally I love this awesome green juice drink. Actually I have grown my own gotu kola leaves it a container. I give enough water throughout the day and keep that container under shade, so those plants give me so many leaves throughout the day. AND I can collect those leaves any time to make this green juice drink whenever I feel thirsty.
This green drink recipe is also very simple and effortless. So I never feel demotivated to make this green juice drink.
