Red lentil and mixed veg soup

Ingredients
  • Red lentil/masoor dal - ½ cup
  • Onion / pyaz - 2 medium size, finely chopped
  • Garlic / lahsun - 3 cloves, chopped
  • Bay leaves / tej patta - 2
  • Curry leaves / curry patta - 6-7 leaves
  • Red chili - 2 pieces, whole
  • Green chili - 2 pieces
  • Tomato / tamatar - 1 large size
  • Green beans - 10-12 pices, chopped into small pieces
  • Carrot / gajar - small size, chopped
  • Pumpkin / kaddu - 40 gm
  • Pointed gourd / parwal - 1
  • Tamarind / imli - very small quantity
  • Oil - 1.5 tbsp
  • Salt - as needed
  • Water - 2 glasses
Instructions
  1. Cut all vegetables into small pieces
  2. Heat oil in a pan or wok and add onion, garlic, bay leaves, curry leaves, whole red chillies
  3. Now add all vegetable pieces and cook for next few minutes, add salt as needed
  4. Add red lentil (wash properly before adding it to vegetables) and fry another few minutes
  5. Then pour everything from the pan to pressure cooker, add tamarind water and two glasses of water
  6. Cook till three whistles and then your red lentil and mixed veg soup is ready to serve (stir before serving
