Mushroom masala pav

Ingredients
  • Pav (bread) - 4 pieces
  • Cheese - as needed
  • Tomato sauce - as needed
For making stuffing item
  • Mushroom - 1 cup, chopped
  • Tomato / tamatar - 2 tbsp, puree
  • Onion / pyaz - 1 large, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1.5 tsp, paste
  • Red chili / lal mirch - ½ tsp, powder
  • Black pepper/kali mirch - 1 tsp, powder
  • Salt - as needed
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Water - ¼ cup
Instructions
Steps to preparing stuffing item
  1. Take medium size pan or kadai and fry small pieces of mushrooms with oil and keep all fried mushroom in a separate bowl
  2. Now add ginger paste and saute it in that pan for 1-2 minutes and add finely chopped onion, spread pinch of salt and cook it till color turns to light brown
  3. Spread tomato puree over fried onion and cook till it releases oil
  4. Now add red chili powder and black pepper powder and again salt too, mix well
  5. Add all fried mushrooms too and mix with all spices and reduce fire then cover your pan or kadai & cook it for 3-4 minutes
  6. Now add little water and cook till water almost dried up
Preparing mushroom masala pav
  1. Cut pav horizontally and spread tomato sauce and cheese over pav (lower part)
  2. Now spread mushroom masala over pav (lower part) and put upper part of the pav over mushroom masala
Notes
Serve mushroom masala pav with extra tomato sauce or cheese sauce
You can purchase tomato puree from market or make it at home
