We all eat sandwiches and burgers but never thought of it’s differences. Some cases it is called as sandwich and in some cases it is called as burger. So is there any difference between burger & sandwich? Nope, I mean, you never think of it. Though some people have their own theory and logic behind that too. But most of the time, those thoughts contradict each other.
There are various thoughts about burger & sandwich. So it is really difficult for a person to identify between burger & sandwich. Particularly in India, almost same food in a shop is served as sandwich whereas in another shop it is served as burger.
Some people claim that every burger is a sandwich but every sandwich is not burger. It is said that the word burger came from Hamburger which itself originated from Hamburg, Germany. That means it will have ham (spicy, salty smoked meat) in burger. Some people also say burger has a bun or tikki (in hindi) in between two breads but sandwich does not have such bun inside it. So height of burger will be more than its width or length. But in case of sandwich, it’s height will be lesser than it’s length. |
There are so many exceptions you may find in reality and that too you definitely realized. Particularly street food vendors are selling sandwich or burgers which are not following any of those thoughts.
