Onion and curd both help in controlling human body temperature. So it is very good practice to have onion raita during summer. But nowadays people prefer raita at any season due to its taste.
Raita is very delicious with biriyani, pulao, roti, aloo paratha, naan etc. You can enjoy onion raita with roti & paneer dish (paneer masala, paneer pasanada, shahi paneer, paneer bhurji etc) very much.

Onion raita recipe
Ingredients
- Curd – 100 gm (fresh)
- Cumin seeds – 3/4 tsp (powder)
- Red mirch/chili – 1/2 tsp (powder)
- Onion – 1 medium sized (finely chopped)
- Coriander leaves – finely chopped
- Black salt – According to taste
Method
- Add water to curd and stir well
- Now add cumin powder, red chili powder, black salt and mix well
- When all those spices are mixed with curd properly then add onion
- Add chopped coriander leaves and stir well
- Serve it cold, if serving during summer then add some small ice pieces too
Additional tips
If you are using mixer then do it carefully and do not run mixer more than 10-15 seconds. You can add some chopped green chilies too.
